Teaching need to result in masterful practice!
Practice means to encode music like a detective !
Practice should like a Roundhead !
Practice is an integral part of teaching –learning progress; it is not an optional extra. A
lesson should lead naturally on to practice and practice on to the next lesson, thus creating a continuous process that starts to create its own internal
energy.
Practice as a re-creation of the lesson: teaching process should conscientious unfold
to make clearly aware of the ingredients that make up their learning content , and let student write down the ingredients themselves, Practice immediately begins as
a creative activity base on the ingredients in the previous lesson and students have to think about the ingredient that make up their pieces (rather than just playing it through in a half-hearted and
thought-less manner, complete with ever growing numbers of uncorrected mistakes) practice becomes a much more student-directed activity with the student taking ownership of their own progress. Give
practice a structure, recreating the lesson during practice.
Slow practice is a cornerstone for learning. It is the “Right” way learning method. It is truly about practice to invest for performance rather than to spend for nothing. Slowing practice is a potent discipline developing memory, musical awareness as well as muscular control, It is a process where the conscious mind trains the fingers and ear to synthesise all existing ability and intuition into an intellectual understanding of what is being done at a subconscious level. Through slow practice to consciously take control of children’s subconscious mind to develop the intuition in a strategic way. Instilled this sense of craftsmanship to our students is an invaluable asset.
